The Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library is proud to announce an "Open House" for local Military Veterans, the event will be held in the library Friday, November 8th at 9:30-11am. Medicare Fraud & Abuse!

Each year, BILLONS of dollars are lost to Medicare Fraud and Abuse! What can you do about it?? PROTECT. DETECT. REPORT. You are invited to a presentation on Medicare Fraud prevention. Learn tips on how to Protect your personal information, how to Detect fraud, and how to Report it. We will be having this program at Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library on Thursday, October 17th at 1:00 pm. The people presenting this program are the Pennsylvania Senior Medicare Patrol. We hope to see you there.:)

Open House at Besore Library!!!

 

Beat the heat of Old Home Week by stopping in to Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library on Thursday, August 8, between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Help us to celebrate our newly renovated building that has been made possible by the great generosity of the community! :)

Volunteers Needed!!!!!!!

Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library is reaching a new stage in its remodeling project and needs volunteers during the week of June 17-22. On June 17 and 18 we will need adults with tools to bring furniture out of storage and to assemble shelving. From June 19 to June 22, we need help to move books from the current adult area to temporary shelving as it is cleared.
We need lots of help for a person-to-person book chain to deliver the books from their current location to their new temporary locations on the following dates: Wednesday, June 19, 11:00am -1 pm and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Thursday, June 20, 9:00 am to 11:00am and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Friday, June 21, 9 am - 11 am

Besore Library Book Club!!! :)

 

The Besore Book Club will be meeting on June 11 - Tuesday at 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm - The Book Club will complete their discussion of "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. This will be followed by an "open discussion". Patrons are encouraged to bring an idea or a title of a book. We will share these ideas as a "Good read" offering. This is a time to obtain information for future reads, refreshments will be served. For more information please phone 717-597-7920!! We hope to see you there!!

Monday, June 17 - "Let's Get to the Root of It!" Potato Chip Taste Test Night! - Join us as we dig into the root of it to find out who invented the potato chip and to participate in tasting various brands of potato chips to find out what the favorite chip is of the families of the Library! We will also be comparing the nutritional value of each brand of potato chip tested!
 
Monday, June 24 - "Fearless Builder!" Lego Night!! - Join us as we dig into the construction end of building and bulldozers! Fearlessness is a requirement to build a LEGO structure of your choice! Afterwards, be prepared to compete in a game against other attendees to be a part of the wreckers or the builders. You will not want to miss this exciting night! and you may not want to wear your best clothers! remember--- NO FEAR!
 
Monday, July 1 - "Fun Time with Mr. Will" Dinosaur Night! - Join Mr. Will Taylor here at the Besore Library as we dig into Dinosaurs!!! Make plans now to be interactively engaged with a lot of storytelling and puppets! Be sure to come and see what Mr. Will has up his sleeve! You will not want to miss this roaring good time!
 
Monday, July 8 - Movie Night featuring "The Borrowers"!!! - Join us as we dig into a great movie featuring John Goodman and Jim Broadbent in "The Borrowers!" They're charming and small and live behind the wall! They're the Borrowers, tiny beings whose big family adventure is a treat for people of all sizes! FREE movie and popcorn!!! --- who can beat that??
 
Monday, July 15 - "Hedgie Pet" Family Craft Night!!!! - Join us as we dig into underground animals! You will have the opportunity to create your very own Hedgie Pet to take home and love forever! We will begin with a book that has been well loved over the years and turn it into an amazing pet for you to continue to love each day! You will not want to miss this opportunity to provide your family with a lovable pet that will never need to be fed, watered, or taken out to go to the bathroom!
Monday, July 22 - "Dig Deep into Your Brain"!! Family Jeopardy Game Night! - Join us as we dig into history and find out just how much we really know! Mark your calenders to be sure that you participate in the famous Jeopardy game as we compete in fun! Family against family! You will not want to miss this night!

American Girls Club: Will be meeting on Saturday, April 20th, at 10:00am

~ This will be the last American Girl Club meeting until fall, so of course we will be having a party!!! And the girls will be celebrating a real life American Girl, Themselves! There will be light refreshments, a movie and we will play some games. We hope to see you and your daughters there! :) 

Family Movie Night: Tuesday, April 16th, 5:30-7:30pm

~Please join us at Besore Library for a movie night where your family will be sure to have lots of fun!! We are going to show Cars 2!! Light refreshments will be provided! Please Sign up in advance! :) 

Parent Literacy Class: Thursday, April 4th, at 10:00 am

~We will be ending with fun ideas that you can do with your child at home this spring and summer!! :)

Read to the Dogs: Thursday, April 18th, 6:30PM&7:00PM

(Please sign up in advance) and Join us for a fun night of reading and you'll get to meet some of the kindly canines unit. :) They are trained therapy dogs who love to be read too. :) 

Henny Penny: Thursday, April 18th, 1:00 pm 

~The Friends of the Besore Library will be presenting a puppet show! Telling the story of the courageous Henny Penny! :) All ages are welcome no sign-up necessary!!
